Job Description
The Academic Program Administrator will manage the administration of the SPH Department of Biostatistics academic programs (MS-AB, MPH), the SIBS summer program, the Teaching Assistant process, and various other student facing activities. The APA is the point of contact for policies and procedures relating to curriculum, degree progress, course scheduling, instructional support, and other academic matters. The APA will be able to describe the programs, policies and requirements to graduate students enrolled in their respective programs. Also, this position is responsible for tracking students' academic progress and reporting programmatic data and curricular information to SPH, program directors, and department chair. The APA also advises students on courses and registration, coordinates all Biostats TA assignments, and supports program admissions activities.
This position will also be directly supporting departmental curricular and educational activities and events, seminars, and meetings, including associated logistics i.e. space reservations, catering, AV equipment needs. The APA will also attend faculty meetings, educational meetings, committee meetings and be responsible for scheduling, setting up zoom meeting times and dates, and also take meeting notes.
The APA will also provide additional miscellaneous support to the departments academic and finance team and projects assigned by the Chair and Director of Administration.
This position is on-campus, in-person.
Required Skills
Bachelor's Degree and 3-5 years of experience. Strong interpersonal and leadership skills and a demonstrated ability to work well with a diverse student population; ability to develop and manage relationships across various stakeholders (i.e. students, faculty, program and university administration); ability to work both independently and as part of a team; demonstrated ability to be self-motivate with problem solving; Professional demeanor and excellent customer service abilities.
