Job Summary:

The Lead Advanced Practice Provider is responsible for the coordination and oversight of the work of the Advanced Practice Providers within the Pediatric Mental Health Institute (PMHI) and the Division of Child and Adolescent Mental Health (DCAMH).

Key Responsibilities:
  • Administrative
    • Support and mentor Advanced Practice Providers (APPs) across the PMHI and DCAMH
    • Meet with APPs and ensure coordination of APPs across the PMHI and DCAMH
    • Primary PRiSM annual performance evaluation reviewer and secondary clinical supervisor for PMHI APPs in the DCAMH Faculty
    • Represent APPs on the PMHI Operational Leadership Team and DCAMH Faculty Executive Committee
    • Ensure APP participation in key PHMI, DCAMH, CU College of Nursing, CU School of Medicine, and Children's Hospital Colorado initiatives
    • Support the development and implementation of APP-specific initiatives across the institute in collaboration with leadership from each division
    • Lead and collaborate on interdisciplinary pediatric mental health workforce development, training, research, diversity and advocacy initiatives
  • Quality Improvement
    • Participate in clinical quality and risk management activities
  • Collaboration
    • Coordinate with CHCO APP Office
    • Participate as a member of the Advance Practice Council and attend at least 50% of the meetings annually
    • Help interview and onboard new APP's to PMHI. Coordinate with the Director of Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner Education, Pediatric Mental Health
    • Coordinate with the Department of Psychiatry Director of APPs

This is an open rank position and could be categorized as Instructor or Senior Instructor based on experience and qualifications as indicated below:

Instructor:
  • A strong history of professionalism, integrity, teamwork, and contributing positively to the climate and culture of the organization
  • Education, Board Certification, and Licensure:
  • Nurse Practitioners: MSN, DNP, or PhD; Board Certified; Licensed to practice in Colorado as an APN
  • Physician Assistants: MPAS; Board Certified; Licensed to practice in Colorado as a PA
  • Experience: Three or more years of experience as an APP with children and adolescents in a psychiatric setting.
  • Licensure: Advanced Practice Nurse or Physician Assistant
  • This position requires a current or future clinical appointment at 0.6 FTE or higher in the Child and Adolescent Psychiatry division.

Sr. Instructor:
  • A strong history of professionalism, integrity, teamwork, and contributing positively to the climate and culture of the organization
  • Education, Board Certification, and Licensure:

  • Previous supervisory experience preferred

Anticipated Pay Range:

The starting salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established as HIRING RANGE:

Instructor: $120,000 to $135,000.

Senior Instructor: $120,000 to $135,000.

This position is also eligible for a leadership stipend and the hiring rate (or budgeted rate) for this leadership position has been established at 0.1 FTE buyout and $3,000 leadership stipend per year.

The above salary range (or hiring range) represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. This position is not eligible for overtime compensation unless it is non-exempt.
