The Department of Global Health at Georgetown University invites applications for a tenure-eligible position at the Assistant or Associate Professor level with expertise in implementation research. The Department of Global Health is home to a diverse community of scholars engaged in research and practice who address public health-related issues in a global context. The Department promotes a highly collaborative environment and values excellence in teaching and multidisciplinary scholarship. We seek candidates with demonstrated experience working in low- or middle-income countries and a strong commitment to undergraduate and graduate education.

We seek candidates with demonstrated expertise in implementation research and proven scholarship focused on the control of infectious diseases and addressing health inequities The position offers opportunities to collaborate with interdisciplinary teams across Georgetown University's renowned academic and research centers, including the Center for Global Health Science and Security, the O'Neill Institute for National and Global Health Law, and the Georgetown Global Health Initiative.

The successful candidate will be expected to develop and maintain a robust externally funded research program, lead and participate in multi-institutional research initiatives, contribute to graduate and undergraduate teaching, mentor students and junior researchers, engage in departmental, university, and external service activities, and foster partnerships with international organizations and research institutions.

Required Qualifications

Doctoral degree (PhD, DrPH, MD, or equivalent) in public health, global health, medicine, or related social or political sciences field with experience in implementation research and the control of infectious diseases, with a preference for experience in Neglected Tropical Diseases (NTDs). Strong publication record in peer-reviewed journals. Evidence of excellence in teaching and mentoring at the graduate and undergraduate levels. Demonstrated commitment to global health equity. Record of successful collaboration with international partners. Multiple years of teaching experience in undergraduate and graduate global health education.

Preferred Qualifications

Track record of successful implementation research in low- and middle-income countries. Expertise in one or more neglected tropical diseases. Experience in capacity building in resource-limited settings. Demonstrated success in building and maintaining international research partnerships. History of translating research findings into policy or practice. Experience in managing large-scale research projects with a demonstrated successful grant funding track record.

We particularly welcome candidates with expertise in implementation science methodologies, neglected tropical diseases control and elimination programs, health systems strengthening, community-based participatory research, health interventions, and health equity and access in resource-limited settings.

The projected salary pay range for this position is $136,000 to $176,000, which represents the full range of anticipated compensation for this position. Compensation is determined by a number of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate's individual qualifications, experience, education, skills, and certifications, as well as the University's business needs and external factors.
